I will never knock an athlete for expanding his brand outside of the field or the court. As long as it doesn’t affect your play, more power to you.
Cameron is still working on how to be a more even keeled professional athlete, but from a business perspective this is a very good look for him.
Here is what he had to say about the venture.
“Without football success, I wouldn’t have this opportunity,” Newton said. “That will always be my No. 1 priority. … I still feel 100 percent confident our goals are in reach.”
“This whole fashion ordeal is … something I’ve never done before,” he said. “They did an unbelievable job of taking my ideas and my fashion and making it a brand.”
But is Newton ready to call himself a full-fledged fashion designer? “The competitor in me wants to say yes, but I’m going to say no,” he said.
Cameron’s line will be called MADE and will be produced by BELK which is a Charlotte based business. They plan to have Newton’s brand in 133 stores by March.
Would you buy clothing designed by Cameron?
I can not confirm or deny if there will be any Hello Kitty related products available.
