CBSSports.com is reporting that Virginia Tech junior quarterback Logan Thomas is leaning towards returning to Blacksburg for his Senior season.
Thomas had previously stated that he’d wait until after the season to make up his mind.
“I’ve always told everybody that I’m planning on coming back for my last one,” Thomas said. “So there’s no change in that right now.”
Thomas a top 50 ranked player in according to some mock drafts, and floats between the 4-6 rated quarterback.
Thomas is on pace to better his numbers from last season, and he helped right the ship after the Hokies started the season off slow.
Thomas has thrown a few to many interceptions this season but feels they all aren’t his fault.
“Last year you go back and look at my games, and I’m throwing the ball off-balance, side-armed and Jarrett [Boykin] and Danny [Coale] are making great catches,” he said. “I feel much more improved in reading the defense, stepping up in the pocket and delivering the ball.
“Last year I was ready to tuck it and run halfway through my read and this year I’ll go through them all. If taking a sack happens, it happens. But that’s just how you improve as a quarterback. And you don’t see really any quarterbacks in the NFL tucking and running every other play, every other dropback. So as a quarterback, that’s where you need to progress.”
Normally Virginia Tech answers a mediocre season with a special one, so look for Thomas and the Hokies to have a great 2013.
