Raiders fans everywhere must be cringing at the suggestion of renting or borrowing someone else’s home field until they can find their own.
According to ESPN.com, that’s exactly what Roger Goodell suggested at the grand opening of the San Francisco 49ers Levi’s Stadium.
“They have to make that determination, whether they’re in a new stadium in Oakland or whether they feel that it’s best to join this stadium,” Goodell said, according to the Bay Area Sports Guy, who tweeted the commissioner’s remarks. “We’re working on that, and that’s one of the decisions they’ll have to make.”
Niners CEO Jed York says he’s open to working with the Raiders on their stadium issue. Raiders owner Mark Davis has said he doesn’t want to be a renter in the 49ers’ facility which has red seats and pictures of former Niners greats plastered everywhere.
