Evelyn Lozada is definitely a woman who can lend perspective into what it’s like to be involved in a high profiled NFL domestic violence case. Evelyn touched on the subject of Ray Rice via twitter a few days ago and her words were a bit shocking.
Evelyn seemingly blames herself in part for the events of that night. Here’s the full twitter exchange:
Domestic violence is always a difficult subject to discuss on social platforms, so maybe Evelyn’s word lack the proper context. The statement comes off as though she’s insinuating that she deserved what was done to her, which I assume isn’t the picture she was trying to convey.
Evelyn seems to be reflective upon the events of her domestic situation and she is trying to say that it has since bettered her as a person. She also hinted that her wild ways brought on negative situations and she no longer invites those type of circumstances into her life.
Throughout this Ray Rice story the subject of “victim blaming” has been often discussed. It’s important to make sure that victims of DV know that they aren’t at fault for what occurs and that there is no place for violence in a relationship.
