Barack Obama may be the most open and engaging President of our time. Obama opened up the White House kitchen to NBC’s Savannah Guhtrie for this pre-Super Bowl interview.
During the interview Obama assured Guthrie that he did not do “an endzone dance” after the Democrats’ losses in the primaries, but did celebrate a recovering economy. He stressed that his last two years would be focused on a more even distribution of the economic benefits.
“You laid out a bunch of proposals that you know cannot get through this Congress,” Guthrie asked. “Isn’t that counterproductive?”
“I disagree with that,” Obama said. “My job is to present the right ideas. If the Republicans think they have better ideas, then they should present them. But my job is not to trim my sails and not tell the American people what we should be doing, pretending somehow that we don’t need better roads or more affordable college.”
The full interview, which will apparently address ISIS and other subjects, will air on the Today show tomorrow.
