A flurry of moves are sure to be made this week, so make sure you keep your head on a swivel for your favorite NFL team. Here we have the Bronco’s attempting to solidify depth in their defensive backfield by retaining Mr. Tony Carter.
The Broncos tendered a $1.542 million salary to restricted free agent Tony Carter, according to an NFL source. The money is non-guaranteed and gives the Broncos a right of first refusal should other teams try to sign the backup cornerback.
Carter is the Broncos’ No. 5 cornerback behind Chris Harris, Aqib Talib, Bradley Roby and Kayvon Webster.
This is just the initial offer for the CB, who is said to have many suitors. By making the tender the Broncos will now have the ability to match or increase any offer made to him by other teams.
The DB market is getting paid well this off season, with lucrative contracts already given to Byron Maxwell and Devin McCourty, so stay tuned to see just how high his price tag gets.
