If you don’t understand why people use the #BlackLivesMatter hashtag I am going to explain it to you in the simplest way I know how.
The common retort to the hashtag is “All Lives Matter”, first off that is common sense, but it shows you how simple-minded people are.
By in large if a police officer is shot or a person is murder anywhere in the country, if the criminal is found they go to jail for a very long time.
Two unarmed black people can get shot 149 times by police and they are found not guilty. That is why people are saying BLACK LIVES MATTER because they seem to be less valued than ALL LIVES. This isn’t a hard concept, people value police officers lives & white people lives, far more than they value black people lives.
We don’t want special treatment we just want to be treated equal. If a black and white person commit the same crime, we want the same justice. If the people who are supposed to protect and serve us can executed us with no repercussions, I think we have the right to have a hashtag without white people getting bent out of shape.
It looks like the STL Cops who care more about themselves than their departments killing black people try to take advantage of the Cardinals mascot. Here is the story via Sporting News.
“A man and a woman stopped Fredbird to request a quick photograph. While the man was taking the picture, the woman standing next to Fredbird asked him to hold up the sign. Fredbird was unaware of the content of the sign.”
“On Monday, the photograph was posted to the Facebook page of St. Louis Police Officers Association with the woman cropped out of the image.
“When the Cardinals became aware of the photograph on Tuesday, we asked our friends at the police association to take it down, and they graciously accommodated our request.”
We will never know if this is just PR from Cardinals or something else, but it is sad that people seem to not understand why black people are in so much pain over these police shootings.
