Steve Weatherford wasn’t expecting to be cut from the Giants but has accepted it. Weatherford opened up about it and expressed his true feelings in a recent interview.
Change may not be welcomed by many but it’s something that has to happen. Steve Weatherford probably didn’t see this coming but is looking to move on and he has said that he will always be a Giant. The kicker now has to adjust and has opened up about it. What’s going on through his mind? Take a look below.
I briefly wanted to address my current situation. As some of you may know, the Giants and I parted ways after four years together. While the news was disappointing, I am so thankful for the time that I spent with the New York Giants. As a member of the team, I made great relationships with coaches and teammates, as well as memories that will last a lifetime. I want to thank Coach Coughlin for giving me an opportunity to be a part of the Giants organization and allowing me to represent the greatest city and fans in the world.
With that said, I am looking forward to the next phase of my life. While change can sometimes be scary, I find myself genuinely excited about the possibilities that lay ahead. And as a good friend of mine told me, when one door closes, another one always opens. In the meantime, I am looking forward to continuing my charitable efforts in the community, but most of all I am looking forward to spending time with my family.
It will be interesting to see which team may pick up Weatherford.
