Right now it’s hard not to love Stephen Curry. He’s transitioning into the face of the NBA, is the most exciting player in the game and handles himself like a professional off the court.
Freddie Coleman and Ian Fitzsimmons asked the question last night on ESPN radio: What would it take for people to dislike Curry?
It’s hard to imagine people disliking Curry, but maybe with more success resentment could grow. However, more success=more haters.
Maybe people will resent Curry because he grew up rich with an NBA playing father and resources that few athletes had growing up. Curry got to practice against Vince Carter daily as a kid!
However, Peyton Manning had the same resources, and until recent developments he was one of the most beloved athletes in the country for nearly two decades, so you just never know.
Something drastic like what Manning allegedly brought upon himself would have to happen because it’s hard to imagine the public not respecting Curry’s on and off-court work anytime soon.
