Stephen A. Smith reports that while he hasn’t talked to Kyrie personally or knows any of the particulars he has reason to believe Kyrie would like to play elsewhere.
“Dating back to last year, I’ve been told that Kyrie Irving ain’t too happy being in Cleveland,” Smith stated on First Take this morning. “The situation is not ideal for him. I don’t know the particulars, I haven’t spoken to him personally. It’s something that I’ve been hearing for months; that under ideal circumstances he would prefer to be someplace other than Cleveland.”
There has always been some rumblings that Kyrie doesn’t like playing second fiddle to LeBron. LeBron casts an enormous shadow over everyone including Irving.
Barring a trade he isn’t going anywhere any time soon. He is locked in an contract until 2020.
