Cam Newton recently said we were beyond racism in our country. That certainly isn’t true, but in this interview with ESPN he is asked what he thought about Colin Kaepernick’s decision to not stand for the anthem and his thoughts on racial injustice.
He essentially said nothing.
Not that much different from Russell Wilson and others. Nothing he is saying is particular wrong in the sense yes we are all pretty much the same on the inside and everyone has a right to feel how they want to feel.
With that being said Cam seems to want to ignore how someone looks on the outside & their beliefs has a lot to do with how they are treated in our country.
And I am not just talking about black and white here. There are many ways to be discriminated against in this country and people feel that effect every single day.
It is Cam’s decision how he wants to address these topics and he has chosen to be passive aggressive to try not to step on anyone’s toes.
How you feel about it, like he said is on you.
