Maybe the Celtics plan was to trade IT to Cavs and have him destroy the Cavs from the inside before resigning him in free agency. I know that isn’t what is happening, but it sounds good, right?
The NY Daily News says IT has been a destructive force in the Cavs locker room.
ESPN reported that during a team meeting Kevin Love became yet again the convenient scapegoat. A source told The News that Isaiah Thomas led the charge against Love, who turned up ill for Saturday’s embarrassing loss to Oklahoma City and went home after playing just three minutes.
That reportedly didn’t sit well with some of the Cavs, including Thomas who arrived for training camp injured and didn’t play until January. Yet, Thomas has an issue with Love?
Thomas, who is hoping to land a huge contract in July, is well on his way to not getting a video tribute when he returns to Cleveland next season as a visitor. Head coach Ty Lue is most definitely on the hot seat while the Cavs front office is still deciding whether to shake up the roster with a trade.
The Cavs are going to trade for someone; it is just a matter of who and if it will matter even if they get to NBA Finals.
