BSO spoke to a law enforcement source who can’t speak on the record because it is an ongoing investigation who tells us they are hoping that cell phone records will lead them to who was involved in the home invasion at LeSean McCoy’s home where his ex-girlfriend Delicia Cordon was assaulted.
The police believe it was not a random attack. They believe that McCoy’s home was targeted, it was an inside job, and the perpetrators knew exactly why they were there and what they were supposed to do.
Because people are dumb a lot of times they leave clues, so that is where the cell phone records come in. They are hoping that calls or texts can shed light on what happened before and immediately after the attack. It could exonerate, point to the guilty party or lead to nothing at all. One possibility is everyone could be telling the truth. McCoy could have had nothing to do with it. Ms. Cordon could honestly believe he did, but someone unrelated could have set in motion robbing a house they might have thought was empty or occupied with women who were alone. If you just went by her social media postings, it is possible the robbers assumed she was still overseas in England.
Expect another statement from the cops in the next 24-48 hours that will give more clarity on the case. For now, here is the cops’ official statement, McCoy’s denial and Ms. Cordon’s friends accusations.
