NYPD Sergeant Speaks On His Promotion Being Denied Because He’s A Supporter Of Colin Kaepernick (Video)

NYPD Sgt. Edwin Raymond is now coming out about how he was supposedly blocked from being promoted to a lieutenant position because he supports Colin Kaepernick’s stance on being against racism and police brutality, according to the New York Daily News. He says the reason cops are giving him is how he handled two domestic violence disputes.

Raymond scored 26 out of 1,325 sergeants who applied for the lieutenant position. Raymond believes that his colleagues thought of him as the bad guy when voicing his public support for Kaep.

“It is unfortunate,” said Raymond to the Daily News. “I did a press conference in support of Colin Kaepernick, using his status to put a spotlight on issues in policing that need to be fixed. Because of the controversy a lot of cops criticized him. Me being aligned with him was seen as standing with the enemy.”

Jackson’s press conference featured bellow black sergeants who wore #ImWithKap shirts in support of his stances on racial injustices. The sad reality is that he probably did get fired for his vocal support of Kaepernick and there should be a deeper investigation into this.
