It is reported that LeBron James has deleted a viral tweet calling out Lakers’ haters prior to the season. The deleted viral tweet read via Side Action;
“Keep talking about my squad, our personnel ages, the way they play, we’re past our time in this league, etc etc etc!!” James said in the preseason tweet. “Do me one favor PLEASE!!!! And I mean PLEASE!!!! Keep that same narrative ENERGY when it’s begins. That’s all I ask. #ThankYou.”
And on Tuesday night, the Lakers were officially eliminated from the playoffs.
It was revealed shortly after the playoffs were no longer within reach that LeBron James had deleted the viral message to his haters.
LeBron James will now have an extended offseason where he can focus on getting his body right prior to the 2022-23 season.
As of now, it’s unclear if the Lakers will try to keep LeBron on their roster or opt for a full-blown rebuild. But either way, it’s clear that a massive overhaul in necessary in LA.
What is next for the Lakers?
They are still title contenders if Anthony Davis and LeBron can stay healthy for an entire season and postseason. There is nothing to suggest, though, that will happen. Anthony Davis seems incapable of not having some nagging injury, and LeBron simply can’t play 82 games like he used to.
Russell Westbrook isn’t a good fit. He plays better when LeBron is out, and since LeBron isn’t going anywhere, Russ needs to hit the road, but no one wants to deal with his contract.
They have old and unreliable role players, so they need to blow everything up beyond LeBron and AD to try to start again next season. LeBron is still playing at an extremely high level, but only in spurts these days.
