In the 49ers’ 33-19 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night, Brock Purdy had a terrible four-pick performance that most likely cost him the 2023 NFL MVP title.
On “Monday Night Football,” Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson once again displayed MVP-caliber play, but the defense’s four interceptions of Purdy opened the door for the win.
Though it doesn’t really matter to Purdy and the 49ers, the Ravens’ historic victory over the NFC’s best team on the road left many gamblers and fantasy football players empty-handed. At least one bettor in particular seemed to take Purdy’s terrible performance personally.
Darren Rovell revealed last week that a fan made a whooping $125,000 on PropSwap by selling a Purdy MVP ticket. The fan wagered $2,000 on Purdy (+10000 odds) to earn 2023 NFL MVP honors, as can be seen on the ticket.
The buyer of such ticket on PropSwap will receive $202,000 if Purdy wins MVP. Given Purdy’s performance on Monday night, that now seems incredibly unlikely because Tua Tagovailoa, Christian McCaffrey, and Jackson are all favored above him in the betting odds at most bookmakers.
JUST IN: Owner of Brock Purdy to win MVP ticket has just sold it for $125,000 on @PropSwap.
The new buyer would win $202,000, which has odds, given his investment, of -162.

Brock Purdy’s form a concern
Since 2013, a quarterback has earned the NFL MVP award all but once since 2008 (RB Adrian Peterson won it in 2012). The top team’s quarterback usually wins the award, although Purdy and Jackson were virtually tied going into Week 16.
With two weeks remaining, Jackson’s Ravens now own the best record in football (12-3). He has gained 3,357 yards and 19 touchdowns from passes completed on 66.3 percent of his attempts. He has also gained 786 rushing yards and five rushing scores.
While Purdy had the distinction of playing with McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, and Brandon Aiyuk, it’s not meant as a slight to Purdy. It’s quite difficult to envision Purdy taking home the MVP award right now, given that some sportsbooks have McCaffrey ahead of him in the betting odds.
