Because of what Aaron Rodgers said about Jimmy Kimmel, ESPN does not want to face any legal issues.
The world leader in sports, Aaron Rodgers, made controversial remarks on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Friday. The remarks came three days after Rodgers, a quarterback for the New York Jets, hinted that late-night host Jimmy Kimmel will be named on the list of people convicted of trafficking in child sex.
A brief comment from ESPN spokesperson Mike Foss to Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports refuted the absurd allegation made against the fellow Disney employee. Mike said ,
“Aaron made a dumb and factually inaccurate joke about Jimmy Kimmel,”
BREAKING NEWS: ESPN Is Apologizing For Aaron Rodgers' comments about Jimmy Kimmel on @PatMcAfeeShow.
“Aaron made a dumb and factually inaccurate joke about Jimmy Kimmel. It should never have happened. We all realized that in the moment,” says ESPN's Mike Foss.

Foss also said to McCarthy: “It should never have happened. We all realized that in the moment.”
While Rodgers was on the show on Tuesday, he made a jab at the comic by claiming that the late-night talk show host’s name would be on the list of clients of the late, convicted sex offender.
“There’s a lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel, who are really hoping that doesn’t come out,” Rodgers said. “I’ll tell you what, if that list comes out, I definitely will be popping some sort of bottle.”
Kimmel attacked X and shot back at Rodgers for his assertion.
“Dear Aassh—: for the record, I’ve not met, flown with, visited, or had any contact whatsoever with Epstein, nor will you find my name on any “list” other than the clearly-phony nonsense that soft-brained wackos like yourself can’t seem to distinguish from reality.,” he posted on X, formerly Twitter.
“Your reckless words put my family in danger. Keep it up and we will debate the facts further in court.”
Pat McAfee, a former punter for the Indianapolis Colts, expressed regret for “participating in” the turmoil that ensued afterwards.
A federal judge in New York ordered the unsealing of over 200 names that had been blacked from court documents last month. For his weekly appearances on McAfee’s show, Rodgers receives a $1 million annual salary, and it looks like he will stay on it.
