Jordan Addison of the Minnesota Vikings Was Arrested Close to LAX

Former USC Trojan and star wide receiver Jordan Addison of the Minnesota Vikings was in the wrong limelight late Friday night. The Los Angeles Daily News reports that Addison was taken into custody close to LAX airport for driving while intoxicated, rather than for making a noteworthy catch.

A white Rolls-Royce was blocking multiple lanes close to the busy airport at 11:10 p.m., prompting the call of police authorities. When the cops got there, they found Addison sound asleep in the driver’s seat—not exactly in game mode.

Addison’s night took a sharp turn when he was placed in handcuffs after a 26-minute arrest due to a strong suspicion of DUI. He was taken out of detention and given two hours to think over his choices.

The Vikings are under a shroud of darkness as a result of this occurrence. Addison’s teammate Khyree Jackson tragically lost his life in an automobile accident with another drunk driver just two days before. The timing couldn’t be worse, which gives the team’s preseason preparations a sad undertone.

Declared Kevin Seifert of ESPN: “We are aware of Jordan Addison’s arrest this past Friday and are currently gathering more information regarding the incident,”

Jordan Addison’s bright future in jeopardy

It stands in sharp contrast to Addison’s bright beginning to his NFL career. He hauled in 70 receptions for 911 yards and ten touchdowns in his Vikings debut. Both observers and supporters have identified him as one of the league’s best young wide receivers, expecting him to form a potent tandem with Justin Jefferson.

After two outstanding seasons at the University of Pittsburgh, where he was named to the First team of the ACC in 2021, Addison transferred to USC, where he continued to thrive and was named to the First team of the Pac-12 in 2022. This was the beginning of Addison’s road to the NFL.

However, sometimes the allure of potential and promise can make one blind to the obstacles in one’s path. This late-night mishap serves as a harsh reminder to Addison that decisions made off the field are just as important to his success as on it.
