Most people thought head coach Mike McCarthy was fired because Dallas was going to have another season that didn’t live up to the high standards. However, it appears like team owner Jerry Jones is rather pleased with the Cowboys‘ surprising away win over the Washington Commanders on Sunday. In fact, during his weekly radio interview on 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday, Jones did not rule out a possible contract extension for his troubled head coach.
Regarding McCarthy’s possible contract extension, Jones stated: “I don’t think that’s crazy at all,”. “This is a Super Bowl-winning coach. Mike McCarthy has been there and done that. He has great ideas. We got a lot of football left.”
For the Cowboys and the NFC East overall, that would be a significant development. We’ll have to wait and see. On Thanksgiving Day, the Cowboys play the New York Giants.
