LaMelo Ball’s Baby Mama Ana Montana Speaks On Her Arrest And Felony Drug Charges

Ana Montana is finally speaking about the headlines surrounding her recent arrest. And, as you can probably imagine, Instagram has become the place to say, “There is more to this story.”

The social media personality and baby mama of NBA star LaMelo Ball reposted an emotional statement to her Instagram Stories. In it, Ana addressed the situation while making it clear that she cannot exactly spill the entire legal file online.

Apparently, real life comes with lawyers.

Ana said she is limited in what she can publicly discuss because the situation is now a legal matter. She also claimed that some parts of the story have been presented in the media without the full context.

That is usually the point where everyone on the internet suddenly becomes a detective.

Ana asked people to respect her privacy while the legal process continues. She did not appear interested in turning her Instagram Stories into a courtroom.

Honestly, probably a smart move. Social media comments are many things, but “qualified legal counsel” is rarely one of them.

The arrest and drug felony charges have put Ana under plenty of attention, but in her statement, she shifted the focus away from the headlines and toward what she says has been happening privately for years.

She says her priorities are simple: her baby, family, faith, and her work through her nonprofit foundation.

That sounds considerably more peaceful than scrolling through thousands of comments about your legal situation.

Montana — real name Analicia Chaves — was arrested Monday in Mecklenburg County, according to booking records obtained by TMZ.

She was hit with two felony counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud or forgery, plus two misdemeanor counts of simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance.

She was held on a $20,000 bond in connection with the felony charges.

According to the arrest warrant, authorities claim Montana obtained alprazolam — the generic form of Xanax — from Walgreens by filling prescriptions written using a doctor’s allegedly stolen DEA registration and medical provider ID.

The alleged conduct dates back to February 21 … and the paperwork lists Montana’s warrant as being issued September 22, six days before her Monday arrest.

Montana’s lawyer tells TMZ, “To clarify, the charges allege that a doctor who used a fraudulent DEA registration and NPI number prescribed Alprazolam for Ms. Chaves, and that she used the prescription written by the doctor to obtain the prescribed Alprazolam at a pharmacy.”

“The drug possession charges appear to allege that she possessed the aforementioned Alprazolam upon obtaining it from the pharmacy via the prescription written by the doctor,” the lawyer added.

For now, Ana is asking for privacy and making it clear that she believes there is more context behind the headlines. The allegations remain legal allegations, and the case will have to play out through the proper process.

Until then, Ana says she is focusing on her child, her family, her faith and her foundation.
