Sixers rookie big man Joel Embiid has spent the off-season turning into the MVP of social media. From courting Kim Kardashian and Rihanna via Twitter to taking not so subtle shots at Ray Rice, Embiid has killed the social media game all summer long.
Apparently, he’s pretty good in interviews too. Embiid sat down with CSN’s Dei Lynam and discussed his first trip to Philly among other things. When asked what he thought about his new city, Embiid took the opportunity to get in some shots at the Cavs and Bucks, the two teams who passed on him in June’s NBA Draft.
“I wasn’t expecting the city to be like that,” Embiid told CSN’s Dei Lynam. “I was surprised and I loved it. I thought it was going to be something like Cleveland or Milwaukee but it was actually way better. I loved it.”
I mean the big man does have a point, it’s no secret that Cleveland and Milwaukee aren’t exactly the biggest vacation spots in the country.
The entire interview is pretty good, it even includes Embiid picking between dating Rihanna or playing with LeBron James. Take a look at the video below for more from the big man.
