Here is what we know so far.
San Jose police tell KTVU that 49er Defensive Lineman Ray McDonald was arrested early Sunday morning on allegations of felony domestic violence.
McDonald was arrested at his home in San Jose early Sunday morning. Sources say other 49er team members were at this home at the time of his arrest just before 3 a.m. Sunday.
McDonald is still currently in custody.
McDonald was having a birthday party at his home when the incident took place, Vernon Davis and others were present. Davis posted this on his Instagram page.
Here are some more details via Sacramento Bee.
McDonald apparently got into an altercation with his fiancee, whom a police source said is pregnant. When she showed police bruising on her neck and arms, McDonald was arrested. News of the arrest first was reported by NBC Bay Area.
Other 49ers were present, including tight end Vernon Davis and defensive end Demarcus Dobbs. McDonald was booked at 5:30 a.m. in San Jose for “inflicting injury on a spouse or cohabitant,” according to the Santa Clara Department of Corrections. Bail has not yet been set.
It is still innocent until proven guilty, so we will wait for more details from the police and McDonald.
