When you are young you think you are bulletproof. When you keep getting away with things it only makes you think you are untouchable, but no one is untouchable. I believe that is what Bo Jackson was trying to stress to Jameis Winston, but he wasn’t getting the message.
Jackson told Rome that he has spoken to Winston in the past. But Jackson made it sound as if that conversation hadn’t been repeated recently, and that Jackson isn’t a fan of some of Winston’s recent off-field actions.
“Jameis Winston needs to make some changes in his life,” Jackson said. “Because it’s affecting him now and it’s definitely going to affect him down the road.”
“I’m the type of person, I will go out of my way to help anybody,” Jackson said about the pair’s communication. “Normally, I don’t like giving people advice if I haven’t been down that road myself. But if I give you advice on something that I know more about than you by just falling out of bed in the morning, if you can’t take that advice and learn from it, then I’ve got nothing else to do with the situation. You’re on your own.”
Asked what he said to Winston, Jackson told Rome, “If I told you what I told him, it’ll probably singe the hairs in your ears.”
Winston is under multiple investigations but will play this Saturday against Notre Dame.
