Michael Beasley Trashes LeBron James And Magic Johnson For Laughing During His Tough Moment

Two Miami Heat players sit courtside in team warmups; one holds a basketball and looks upward while the other gazes ahead, with fans in the background.

Apparently, the NBA never forgets, and neither does Michael Beasley as he has decided to revisit one of his most chaotic fashion moments: the time he showed up to a game in Oklahoma City wearing practice shorts. Not warmups, not stylish throwbacks. Practice shorts. The kind you wear when nobody important is watching. Unfortunately for him, everybody was watching.

And according to Beasley, two very famous people were laughing the hardest: LeBron James and Magic Johnson.

“I just had the wrong shorts on. They fit the same, so I couldn’t feel that s–t. Y’all fu—n’ laughed, man. That day, James, my cousin, died. And I was supposed to be at a funeral. And I was at shootaround “Damn, like should I get on this flight?” Just play, if I get on this flight, they gonna think I’m lying about people dying,” an emotional Beasley explained.

“I ain’t wanna play at all. He was one of my favorite people and s–t. And they was just laughing at me and s–t. I was hot. I was hot. I hated them, cuz my mom didn’t deserve that s–t. I hated that year.”

Beasley also talked about his darkest moment when his mother Fatima Smith died after battling cancer. He also suffered another loss when hia cousin also died.

“Magic Johnson and LeBron James are my favorite people. I couldn’t be happy around them, cuz they was laughing, too. But nah….Josh Hart, though, I love him. I was on the bus one day, and I ain’t even know I was crying. Josh Hart came to me and gave me a hug. “Bro, I don’t know what you’re going through, but you can come talk to me.” I never did, and I wish I did,” he added.

“I brought her to a game in D.C.,” recalled Beasley. “She was on morphine, like she was hurt. And it was one player that she really wanted to see. He sent his guy over there, like at that time, I was whatever. But he ain’t say hi to her, but you know, she’s on morphine. Whenever she drop off the morph, and she would remember everything, she would sit there and tell us everything. That hurt her feelings.”

But here’s the thing: this is classic NBA culture. If you slip up, even a little, you’re getting roasted. No mercy, no warnings, especially if your mistake is visually unforgettable.

Still, you’ve got to admire Beasley for holding onto this memory with the passion.
