A 21-year-old social media influencer known as DreamDoll Bri was killed early Sunday after she and two male companions were shot in what police described as a targeted attack while riding in a Lamborghini SUV. The vehicle crashed into a home in a residential neighborhood following the gunfire.
Brianna Johnson, identified by family and friends as the popular content creator and TikTok personality DreamDoll Bri (also known online as DreamdollBrii or ItGirlBri), died from her injuries at a hospital. The two men, whose names have not been released, were also shot but are recovering, according to the Miramar Police Department.
The shooting occurred around 5:30 a.m. Sunday, July 5, in the 2700 block of Sunshine Boulevard during the Fourth of July weekend. Police said the Lamborghini was followed and fired upon in a rapid barrage of shots detected by the ShotSpotter system.
Here is a clear sequence based on police accounts, witness information, and initial reporting:
- Earlier in the night (July 4 into early July 5): Johnson and her two companions attended a large party or gathering at a nearby home or Airbnb in the Miramar area.
- Gas station stop: The group later stopped at a Shell gas station, where a fight or altercation broke out.
- ~5:30 a.m. Sunday: As the group drove away in the Lamborghini SUV (described in multiple reports as fluorescent green), a light-colored vehicle — reported as a white or dark pink/white BMW or sedan, roughly a four-year-old model — followed them on Sunshine Boulevard. The suspect vehicle pulled alongside the driver’s side and opened fire with multiple rapid shots, striking all three occupants inside.
- Immediate aftermath of gunfire: The Lamborghini continued for about a block before running a stop sign and crashing into a residence off Southwest 27th Street (or into a home after striking a stop sign, per varying accounts). Neighbors were awakened by the gunfire; one resident’s mother initially thought it was fireworks before realizing something was wrong.
- Emergency response: Paramedics and police, alerted by ShotSpotter, responded quickly. All three victims were transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in critical condition.
- Outcome: Johnson succumbed to her injuries. The two men remain hospitalized and are recovering. The neighborhood was cordoned off as a crime scene while investigators collected evidence, including shell casings.
Miramar Police Chief Delrish Moss said the gunfire was “quite rapid fire” and emphasized that detectives believe the Lamborghini was specifically targeted. “Certainly they targeted this particular car for some reason… We’re trying to figure out why,” Moss stated. He also noted the jarring nature of the incident: “This is no way to wake up on a Sunday morning.”
A local resident, Chery Cherr, described the shock in the usually quiet, tight-knit community:
“We’ve never experienced anything like that. Anyone here pretty much knows each other, so it’s a pretty tight-knit neighborhood.”
Police are actively searching for the gunman or gunmen and the fleeing suspect vehicle, last seen heading southbound. No arrests have been reported as of Monday morning. Investigators are reviewing surveillance video from the area, including footage that reportedly shows the suspect vehicle following the Lamborghini.
