When LeBron James Went All Will Smith on Lavar Ball : “Keep My Kids’ Name Out of Your Mouth”

LaVar Ball has a history of stirring up controversy, which has frequently kept him out of the good graces of the majority of prominent figures in the NBA. And LeBron James is no different. The former star of the Cavaliers responded forcefully to something LaVar had said about Bronny and Bryce James in 2017. To sum up, it is definitely worth a second look.

James has always defended his family with great ferocity. It was therefore not surprising that Ball, the current NBA star, was extremely enraged when he made his remarks. Will Smith’s infamous opening statement was saib by LeBron, in which he insisted that LaVar keep his family “out of his mouth.”

Then he clarified that he didn’t mind the notorious father discussing a variety of subjects. But now that he was talking about his family, they were in trouble. LeBron said,

“Keep my kids’ name out of your mouth. Keep my family out of your mouth… This is dad to dad. It’s a problem now. He can talk all about his brand, talk about his sons, talk about basketball, talk about me…But keep my family out of this.”

LeBron James expressed his disapproval of LaVar Ball’s remarks, but he was clear that he had the utmost regard for his son Lonzo Ball. The Ball brothers were dominating at UCLA at the time and were expected to be selected in the lottery of the 2017 NBA draft.

“I actually like [Lonzo]… I like his game.”

LeBron James is deserving of a great deal of appreciation for his ability to direct his irritation towards the appropriate person rather than his family. Regarding his refutation, it was more than warranted. Making disparaging remarks about his family, after all, goes too far.

LaVar Ball has never held back when speaking his mind. As usual, he did not hesitate to answer questions regarding how talented LeBron James’s boys would be in the basketball world. No all-time great, he claimed, had ever had a son who became a great basketball player. He postulated that the pressure of carrying on an amazing heritage was the cause of this.
